Spoiler: Kershaw Wins Cy Young Award

Bold statement? Not really. During last night’s game against the defending World Series champs, Dodgers’ pitcher Clayton Kershaw beat the Giants for his 20th win. Not only did he lift the Dodgers’ record above the .500 mark, but he did it in style: ending the Giants’ eight game winning streak and further diminishing their hopes of making it to the playoffs. Last night’s game bumped Kershaw’s performance to a 20-5 record this season with a 2.27 ERA, 242 strikeouts, 226 innings pitched, and a 5-1 strikeout-to-walk ratio. If you look at what Kershaw has done this season, he has to be a favorite for the title. Still not convinced? Keshaw has also beaten the two time Cy Young winner, Tim Lincecum, four times in four head-to-head matchups this season. Oh, and Kershaw’s ERA in those four starts? 0.30. Lincecum? 1.24.
