Keys to the Game: Yankees Vs Royals, August 17, 2011

The Yankees go for a three game sweep tonight in Kansas City. Bartolo Colon will be on the hill for the Bombers, and he has consistently been the Yankees second best starter. The Yankees have won Colon’s last four starts and this season he is 8-6 overall with a 3.31 ERA.

Last 4 Starts: ERs Allowed (Blue), HRs Allowed (Orange) & SO (Green)

The Royals counter with Bruce Chen, Kansas City’s best pitcher the past two season.  He is 7-5 with a 4.15 ERA in 2011.  Compare tonight’s starters.

Wins (Blue), Losses (Orange) & ERs Allowed (Green)

The key for this game will be if Chen keeps his pitches down in the zone against the high flying Yankee offense.  If he does, and Colon makes a mistake or two, the Yankees will have a tough time bringing out the old broom.
