Keys to the Game: Diamondbacks Vs Phillies, August 16, 2011

by

Tonight the surprising NL West leading Arizona Diamondbacks will open a three game series in Philadelphia.   NL Cy Young frontrunner, Roy Halladay, hopes to prevent the Diamondbacks from collecting their 7th consecutive win tonight.  Halladay as been absolutely dominant at Citizens Bank Park this season, posting a 2.01 ERA over his last 10 starts in Philadelphia.

ERs Allowed (Blue), HRs Allowed (Orange) & SO (Green)

Arizona will counter with Rookie Josh Collmenter, who has not fared well on the road this season.  Collmenter is 1-4 in eight road starts, giving up five Home Runs and only striking out 26 batters.

ERs Allowed (Blue), HRs Allowed (Orange) & SO (Green)

While Justin Upton and the rest of the Diamondbacks offense has been red-hot as of late, their offensive production will probably not give them a large enough advantage to cancel out this lopsided pitching match up.  Compare the production of Arizona’s starting lineup with Philadelphia’s:

AZ: Hits (Blue), RBIs (Orange) & HRs (Green)

PHIL: Hits (Blue), RBIs (Orange) & HRs (Green)
