NL Elite Showdown

by

Tonight the defending World Series Champion, San Francisco Giants, will square off against the Philadelphia Phillies for the first time since the 2010 NLCS.  Both clubs are sitting atop their divisions, with Philadelphia holding the best record in all of Major League Baseball.  The source of both teams success so far has been phenomenal pitching.  The Phillies and the Giants actually combined for a majority of the National League All-Star Pitchers.  San Francisco is first in Majors with team ERA of 3.08 and second with a 1.21 team WHIP, while Philadelphia is second in ERA (3.13) and first in WHIP (1.18).
