Phillies-Red Sox Showdown

The Philadelphia Phillies and Boston Red Sox are matched up this week in interleague play. The two teams were heralded at the beginning of the season as favorites to meet in the 2011 World Series. With no doubt, the Phillies are baseball’s best team this season. The Phillies are the only team with a winning percentage over .600. The Red Sox, however, are currently ranked first in the league for total runs, batting average, and on base. So who will come out on top this week?

My prediction? The Phillies will take two out of the three games. Don’t let the numbers fool you, because the Red Sox haven’t looked so hot the past couple series (losing back-to-back series to the Padres and Pirates….really?!) and the Phillies have continued to dominate the National League.
